MY FRIEND (1999)
(This dance is not meant to be either a biography or a story about the life of my dear friend, Tetsu Maeda. What I've done in this dance is to use certain incidents and situations from Tetsu's life as a framework for exploring ways of utilizing his way of stage design/stage art, to express certain themes, including, the impermanence of life, our sometimes cavalier attitude towards the imminence of death, and about the process of dying. His memory was a constant inspiration throughout the creative process and dare I say that I feel "he" was somehow "guiding" it.)
